Tomorrow my parents are coming to visit, which should be pleasant because I haven’t really seen them since I’ve moved. The downfalls to them coming tomorrow are A) the game is tomorrow and B) it doesn’t really matter when the game is because I have to work 4-close. But the good news is Tim is coming down tomorrow so he and my parents can go out to drinks while I am at work… what a nice boy!
Speaking of Tim he should be moving into his new place by Monday or Tuesday! I just can’t wait to see Chesney, I miss my puppy! Yes that’s right I just declared her as mine. So needless to say starting tomorrow my next few days will be filled with a lot of shopping for Tim’s place and unpacking and if I’m lucky some grocery shopping with the padres. After all it’s for a good cause - - 3 poor college students who have been living off of noodles and cheese quesadillas haha
Justin came down tonight which has also been an overall pleasant experience. Partially because when J comes to visit he usually buys us a nice dinner; good company and good food… I’m going to go ahead and call that a win-win situation.
I must say it is time for another job or at least more hours at the one I currently have, somehow it seems that my checking account is constantly becoming empty and my savings is dwindling by the minute. Wouldn’t it be nice if I was just spoiled and my mommy paid for everything I wanted? Though I must give my parents credit they are helping me out immensely, it just seems like every time I turn around I need money for something. Which reminds me of my experience today at the Library- not really an interesting one, but nonetheless one that just proves how Western indeed does screw you:
This story needs a bit of set up so bare with me. I was taking Phil 350 but the 1st day of class (a 3 hour class mind you) the prof basically said unless you have time to read this book, which is boring and hell and has a ton of old English and Greek vocab, you should drop my class. Well of course I don’t have time with all of my other classes to read this million page book, nor the motivation- I was only taking the class as a gen. Ed. So I come home and drop the class and try to add psychology of the sexes (WMS 350) but its all full so I just say screw it and register for Gender inequalities in education (WMS 330) thinking “A Woman’s Studies class, must be a breeze”. Well the class itself, like what we have to “learn” is nothing but pure common sense on a 5 year old level; however, the teacher is just ridiculous. SO in a nutshell I expected a blow off class and got a lunatic instead. Anyways the point of my story… we have to do this group book report (like I said 5 year old level class) and so I go to the library and check out this book I need. Needless say I checked it out and didn’t touch it for two weeks- so I go to the library today to recheck it out because it was due a week ago (and I’m thinking “weird they only give it to you for a week?”). I hand the girl the book and ask politely to recheck it out and then she scans it and says that I can’t because I have a $15 late fee…. Now I don’t know about you but last I checked its only $.25/day for a late book so 7 days = $1.75 right? Nope, because apparently this book was on the reserved list meaning that NOT ONLY do you not get enough time to read the book, but you also end up having to pay a late fee that costs more than the book itself. I know this because I actually went and bought the book for $12.50.
Notes: The Library tried to steal my money and I am blaming it on my WMS teacher because I don’t like her.
I did gain one thing from this experience: when Em and I went to Barnes and Noble to buy the book we ended up getting a lot of homework done and heard an amazing joke. |
